Dr. Chaitanyanand B Koppiker is a Breast Oncosurgeon and the Medical Director at Orchids Breast Health Center, and has about 30 years of experience as an oncosurgeon. He has pioneered the concept of 'single stage immediate breast reconstruction with expandable prosthesis' in India. He has incorporated all cosmetic breast surgical procedures in practice to the benefit of breast cancer patients and developed proficiency in procedures such as breast reduction, breast augmentation and nipple-areola reconstruction. He was the first in India to introduce procedures such as Breast Conserving Surgery, Oncoplastic Surgery, Sentinel Node Biopsy, Mammotome, Vacuum Assisted Biopsy, etc. He has performed and established protocol for conservative breast cancer surgeries since 1994. He was the first in Pune and one of the first pioneers in the country to adopt this procedure. He was one of the first surgeons to perform Sentinel Node Biopsy in the country. He has established procedures for management of non-palpable lesions of breast for the first time in 1995, and was again one of the pioneers to adopt the procedures. He has performed more than 2000 breast surgeries till date inclusive of more than 700 oncoplastic surgeries, above 200 breast reconstructions & above 750 sentinal node excisions. He has provided personal one-to-one training to plastic surgeons and breast surgeons in India.

Dr. Deshmukh has an experience of over 20 years in medical oncology. At Orchids, he leads the activities at the chemotherapy day care centre and is involved in counselling, medical education and training activities. He is a faculty member of the Master’s program in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery, organized by Prashanti, under Dr. Koppiker's guidance. He is also an active member and tutor of the many international workshops and symposia conducted by Orchids. He has two decades of proficiency in chemotherapy, which encourages the patients to place absolute trust in him, and also assures them of the decisions he advises them with, with respect to their further procedures. He has teaching experience of more than 10 years to post graduate residents in radiation and surgical oncology at various places and institutes of repute. He is the Head of Radiation Oncology department at M. N. Budhrani Cancer Institute, Inlaks & Budhrani Hospital in Pune, Maharshtra. He is also DNB coordinator for DNB Radiotherapy course at his department. He is a Life Member of Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI). He is Member of Executive Committee, Maharashtra Oncology Group and Life Member of Indian Cooperative Oncology Network (ICON). He was awarded MD Radiotherapy from Institute of Medical Sciences, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India in 2004. He received his MBBS degree from Rajendra Medical College, Ranchi University, Ranchi, India in 1997. He has done senior residency at Maulana Azad Medical College & Associated Lok Nayak Hospital, Delhi, India and worked at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Center, Delhi and Artemis Health Institute, Gurgaon before shifting to Pune in 2009.
